Thoughts to Ponder

When people come to the Church of God World Mission Society they hear a lot about the importance of keeping the Law of Christ. The reason Christ’s Law is important is because through it we are able to come to him, and we are then made perfect through him. For those who grew up hearing that it is by faith in the name of Jesus, it is difficult to hear that there is Law. Here is a thought for those who do not think that the Law is necessary. If we are saved by faith in knowing Christ through the Bible, then why is there need to go to Church? Wouldn’t we then simply read the Bible in our homes, and live our lives having salvation though believing in his name. We know better then this however, because throughout the New Testament we see that Christ established a church. Obviously we should go to church. Which day should we go to church then? The Bible says the seventh day which is Saturday, but people go to church on Sunday. If Saturday worship is a Law of God that is no longer to be kept, then what is Sunday worship? Is it not a Law of Man that is to be kept? Should we follow the rules of men or the law of God? What did the disciples of Christ say? (Acts 5:29; Acts 4:19). Either way you will follow law, but isn’t it better to follow God’s law that leads to life. Thanks be to God Ahnsahnghong who reestablished the Law of Christ which is holy, perfect and good.

The Greatest Commandment

What did Jesus Christ mean when he said that all the Law and the Prophets hang on two commandments? (Matthew 22:36-40). Biblically, how can we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind? (Deuteronomy 6:4-8). In love for God we are to tie the Commandments as symbols on our hands and bind them on our foreheads. How can we fulfill this? (Exodus 13:3-10). By celebrating the Feast of Unleavened Bread we are able to have a sign on our hands and reminder on our foreheads that the law of the Lord is to be on our lips. Therefore, we can understand that the way to show God we love him with all our heart, soul, and strength is by keeping the Passover. The Passover and all the Feasts of God are to be kept in order to keep the Ten Commandments. Understanding this, what was Christ saying when he spoke about the greatest commandment? Christ wants us to keep the Passover of the New Covenant. If we don’t keep the Passover, then in God’s eyes we do not love him, even though we say we love God with all our heart, soul, and strength. There is a popular saying in the world: “Actions speak louder than words.” Thanks to our Father Christ Ahnsahnghong, we can see our love in made complete by keeping the Passover.
