God gave us Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai that we should keep forever. Among them, the second commandment deals with idolatry. (Exodus 20:4-6). God said that those who bow down and worship idols sin against God, while those who obey his commands show him love. We want to show God love as his children, so we ought not to have any idols. The Apostle Paul often spoke of the importance of not making idols. (Acts 17:29). Even though we know that statues are not God, don’t people still consider statues and pictures of Christ as holy? Don’t we see people bowing down and praying before giant objects made as representations of Christ? What did God say concerning this in the Ten Commandments? Even though people view an object as holy, does that really make it holy? Only God can say what is holy. When we worship God, it should not be to a statue or picture. When we pray the only one who should intercede for us is Christ. (Romans 8:34). These perishable things are not what brings us the salvation of our souls. (1 Peter 1:18-19). It is Christ’s blood that saves. How can we have Christ’s holy blood? (Matthew 26:17-19)(Matthew 26:26-28). It is through the Passover that we can receive Christ’s precious blood that gives us salvation. Christ Ahnsahnghong gave us the Passover, so that we could obey God’s commands and receive the promise of everlasting life. Eternal praise and glory be the God Ahnsahnghong forever and ever!
